WEEK OF FEBRUARY 15TH, 2010
WORLD MATRIMONIAL DAY: February
14, 2010, the Sixth Sunday in Ordinary time, we
celebrate the World Matrimonial Day. We honor husband
and wife as heads of the family, the basic cell of the
society. We rejoice with couples commemorating their
faith-filled life commitment today during our Weekend
Masses as you renew your wedding vows. I wish to assure
you all as you re-live your Wedding Anniversary of my
joy as your pastor and that of all the parishioners of
St. Angela Merici Catholic Church. May God keep blessing
you in your noble vocation in marriage.
FAREWELL MASS FOR FATHER PETER MUSHI, AJ,
INSTALLATION OF FR. NESTORIO NEW PASTOR AND BLESSING OF
OUR NEW ALTAR: This is to inform you that on Tuesday
February 23, 2010, at 6.30 p.m. as a parish, we shall
have a farewell Mass for Fr. Peter Mushi, AJ,
installation of Fr. Nestorio Agirembabazi, AJ, new
pastor and blessing of St. Angela Merici new Altar. The
Holy Mass will be presided over by Most Rev. Josu
Iriondo, Auxiliary Bishop of New York. You are all
warmly welcome on that special event.
ASH WEDNESDAY. On Wednesday, February 17, 2010,
we begin our annual LENTEN season. On that day, we shall
have three Masses; with the school children at 8.30
a.m., service of imposition of ashes service at the
Nursing Home at 10.00 a.m., regular Holy Mass at 1.00
p.m. in English, and 7.30 p..m. in Spanish. Ash
Wednesday is a day of universal fast and abstinence in
the Church. It is a Season of grace, personal and
community renewal (reconciliation) and generosity to the
most needy of society.
TAX EXEMPTION LETTER. For all our registered
parishioners who donated to the church this past year
who would like to receive Tax exemption letters are
invited to call the rectory and speak with Mrs. Marcia
Correa. Please provide your envelop number.
REQUEST FOR MASS INTENTIONS There are so many
open days for parishioners to request for Mass
Intentions, please do take advantage of that opportunity
to pray for your deceased relatives, friends, and
benefactors or for yourself for blessings and divine
favors. You can do so by requesting for a Gregorian
Mass, which is a thirty days (30) consecutive masses
offered by a priest for a particular intention or
regular mass, offered on a particular day, which most of
us are used to.
PRESIDENT’S DAY February 15, 2010 is President’s
Day. The Parish office will be closed.
THE WAY OF THE CROSS/VIA CRUCES We shall have the
Way of the Cross in Spanish on Thursday February 19th,
2010 at 6.30 p.m. and Friday February 19, 2010 at 6.30
p.m. in English
