FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER

FR. JOHN KALUNGI: The superior general of the religious missionary institute of the Apostles of Jesus has requested Rev. Father John to go to Africa to participate in the consultative meeting and workshop in preparation for the general chapter of their religious missionary institute. Fr. John will leave for Africa on May 6th 2013. Please we request that you pray for him to have a safe journey and a successful mission. Thank you so much in Advance

ROSARY DURING THIS MONTH: During the month of May we will continue with our tradition of honoring Our Lady by praying the rosary before all the masses. We will offer this special prayer through the intercession of Our Lady for peace in the world, for our families and for all the people of God. May the Mother of God intercede for us! Amen.

WEDDING ANNIVERSARY: Couples celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary anytime during 2013 are invited to the annual Golden wedding jubilee Mass with cardinal Dolan at the cathedral of St. Patrick, Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 2:00pm. Pre-registration is required. Please contact your parish for registration. The closing date to register for the Mass is Tuesday, June 4th 2013. This event is sponsored by the family life/ respect life office of the Archdiocese of New York.

CCD FIRST HOLY COMMUNION: Our CCD Candidates for first Holy Communion will have their individual confessions on May 4th 2013, at 9:30am. Practice for First Holy Communion will be on May 11th 2013, at 10:00am. The celebration of first Holy Communion for CCD first Holy Communion Candidates will be on May 18th at 10:00 AM.

PARISH ANNUAL DINNER: Our eighth parish annual dinner is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 26th 2013 at 4:00PM. Parishioners are invited to reserve seats for this beautiful event in our Parish at the price of $ 20.00 for Adults and $10.00 for Children. On that day we shall announce the Families of the year, Mothers of the year, Fathers of the year, youths of the year, and much more. Remember also that you can make an “ad” (advertisement) in our parish journal which will be given out on that same annual dinner day. MOTHER’S DAY ENVELOPS: It is wonderful for us to pray and honor our mothers in a very special way each year. Envelops for mother’s day Mass remembrance are provided in the back of the church. This year’s annual celebration of mother’s day will be on May 12th 2013.

ROSARY RALLY: On Sunday May 5th 2013, we will celebrate this year’s annual Rosary Rally of the Vicariate of the South Bronx. Place: Our Savior Church 2317 Washington Ave. Bronx, NY 10457. Time: 2:00pm.

HOLY MASS: On Thursday, may 16th at 6:30pm, the Giana Mass will be offered at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 411 E. 68 street , Manhattan, for the intention of those struggling with infertility and pregnancy-related difficulties. Time for veneration of the relics of St. Gianna will be made available. Dr. Ann Nolte from the Gianna Center and additional Creighton fertility care practitioners will be on hand to speak with anyone who is interested. The event is open to the public, and all are invited to attend.
